Category Archives: USA As a final note on NYC…I photographed this lovely family Ingrid, Gary and Anneliese in Port Washington, which is on Long Island, 30 mins north by train from Manhattan. Gloriously green, this part of the world is a tad pretty…seriously beautiful homes and gardens there. We went to an historic property called Planting Fields…  When I first graduated from my photography degree I returned to Canberra (from Melbourne) and set up my business. Primarily I worked in wedding photography. Back in those early days I had the pleasure of meeting and photographing Doug and Nicole’s wedding. This is what you get when you decide to take a break on a road trip in Virginia – little Pearls of Wisdom Virginia-style. The recording was looping in between songs over, and over, and over, and over again. Y’ll c’mon back now y’hear. B  I introduce you to Audrey and Rebecca. Many years ago Audrey purchased this property and surrounding land, with an extraordinary view over the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina. Over the years her children and grandchildren have all come here many times for various family holidays. Audrey and Rebecca have a very close relationship, and it was… oh, these family shoots are just beautiful. I love the photo of Audrey and Rebecca side by side, they look like they make each other so happy. And what a stunning property, so green!  This week I find myself high in the hills three hours drive from Raleigh, North Carolina in a little town called Sparta. To be exact, I find myself in the glorious countryside surrounding Sparta, with incredible views of green, green and more green. My eyes are bugging out of my head looking at all…  On my last day in New York I had a photo session with Australian couple Mel and Andrew, who have now lived there for 5 years. They’ve had their share of ups and downs of the personal variety in recent times. It’s one of the reasons I don’t do much street photography.  I landed in LA yesterday morning. The first day or so away on a big journey is always a bit weird. Something like your body is in the new place but your mind needs a chance to catch up. As the plane was landing I quickly wrote this down: 16 May 2009 Just landed in LA….
