Kulturhaus

Berlin is full of modern day ruins. Where many cities bull dozed old buildings to make way for the new, in some cases in Berlin that just didn’t happen. Namely because there was no money to knock down and start again. So now the city is an ecclectic mix of old, new and everything in…

Totally, Sara it would make an amazing place for a movie for sure.

Sara - July 25, 2012 - 4:23 pm

Brilliant pictures and an extremely inspiring place. My fav one: the one with an armchair. If I were to shoot a movie, it would be there.

Wiener Brot – Update

This week I was asked back by Sarah Wiener and her crew at Wiener Brot bäckerei to shoot some product images for them. A couple of weeks ago I captured the opening of their shopfront Wiener Brot and I also went to the off-site bakery to capture some of the action there.  They looked at…

The Bubble Man

If you’ve been in Berlin a while, before long you’ll see what I call the Bubble Man. The Bubble Man, otherwise known as Peter Pan Seifenblasenmann or Peter Pan the Soap Bubble Man is often seen around Berlin blowing bubbles. Not just any bubbles, these bubbles are massive, amazing bubbles that captivate everyone that passes…

Today was spent all day at the Skoda Velothon with some members of my group Photography in Berlin. Not usually my caper, walking around a big city watching a cycling race. The Launch

How to explain the collaborative process? Ah…it’s a mysterious thing, arriving at the final destination. You would think, looking at this video, that the written content was complete and as you hear it now, before we shot the images. It didn’t quite roll out that way… Emma has been exploring various themes in her…

Oh you say it so well Emma, staying open is the key to the collaboration indeed. I think we are both very good at that – the flow of ideas goes back and forth until we massage the piece to a point of completion… I do love working with you my dear you are amazing!! See you in Spring time so we can continue the collaborative adventure xx

Emma - May 12, 2012 - 12:14 pm

It is so wonderful to work with a photographer like Beth, she has such an intricate eye for visual language. Her photos tell stories I could never write on my own and I love how she captures beauty in every frame. There’s always so much love in her work. I think that staying open is the only way to collaborate effectively – you never know exactly what will happen, you just have to be ready to recognise and capture it when it does. Something Beth does very well. Hurry up and come back from Berlin please, I’m ready for more! xx

Beth Jennings - April 20, 2012 - 10:00 am

Yeah…thanks Haley it is very well written isn’t it. A great story and it’s come together really well in the presentation. We’re really excited by this one!

As the owner of the yellow/white car in the photos, I turned up on the day and, had never met Lisa in person..
By the end of the day, it fealt as she she was a life long friend..
Lisa is one hell of an inspirational, beautiful woman..
Lisa chose my car as the car, she most wished to take home, the trophy that was awarded to me will be cherished more than any other my car will ever be awarded…
I will always be there if there is to be other events organized in the future..

Oh Julia thanks so much, yes, the pictures have turned out well I think, they capture the movement and spirit of your winery. It’s the people that make the place, their personalities and energy so that’s what I wanted to reflect in the images – they all look great what’s online here is a sampler for you. Thanks again so much for our partnership and I’m so pleased to be associated with your beautiful vineyard.
