I’m here in Melbourne for a few more days and tying off some loose ends. I’ll be back here in September. The late afternoon light has crept in and raked across this gum tree. This is when I get all nostalgic about being Australian, about when it’s time to head off. Because I’m not just heading out of Melbourne, I’m heading out of the country in three weeks. Back to Germany I go in mid May.
I’ve been in Melbourne since January. The point in coming was to see if this city would be a good fit for me. I created awesome opportunties to work with new people and to show Melbourne what I can offer. I have to say, it’s not been without its challenges, but it’s definitely the right city for me. So after…um…about…um…nine years of travelling, packing, travelling, packing, I can now say with fair certainty that I’ve firmly narrowed it down to two cities – Melbourne and Berlin.
They say home is where the heart is. For me that’s about that feeling like it’s coming up through my feet and making my heart skip a beat. It’s nice to say I’ve finally found a place, well, two places, in the world that really do it for me.
3 months a year in Berlin, 9 months a year in Melbourne. Yeah, let’s do that…along with commissioned travel jobs anywhere, anytime – cos I lurve to travel (that never changes).

Awww hi Raymond! So great that you stopped by two write a few words, thanks so much! So you’re a Melbourne man – yes it’s like Berlin – but Berlin is on steroids in comparison. I do love both cities, there is a particular vibe. Spain sounds awesome!!! Perfecto – yes let’s definitely catch up this summer. B

I just wish that I could get to spend more time in Melbourne though. That’s the drawback of having job security -only 6 weeks holidays/year and the wish not too spend them all in the same place.
Now back to planning the 2 weeks in July in Valencia/Barcelona….. I’m sure that I will see you when you’re in Berlin. cheers Raymond
