 Right outside my building is a gorgeous nursery. Every morning they set up all the plants, and every night it all gets packed away again. There’s this lovely, quirky way that the plants are displayed. Nothing goes to waste, old cans with a hole punched in the bottom will suffice for pots. It’s all in…  Written at about midnight a few nights ago after I came home from a wine tasting… Oh it’s just a little bitta magic…this city. The last two nights I was out drinking far too much – the first night was in a gay bar the second night was in a rock bar aka Rage Against…  I made a new friend, Verena, over at Photography in Berlin. We were out at Eurovision together last night. Due to the wonders of modern technology (Facebook) and instant messaging and decided we were up for a little random cycling, kaffee und kuchen. Coffee and cake is a 4pm institution in Berlin, so what better…  If you are looking for a cool place to hang out for great public events, go to Kulturbraurei in Prenzlauer Berg. An old brewery, the buildings and courtyard are now open to the public for all sorts of events, festivals, shows etc. This weekend was Eurovision, and I hung out there drinking biers and watching…  I held my first event here today, at Cafe Jenseits, at Heinrich-Helm Platz in Kreuzberg. It was really great, seven of us came and we chatted and gave feedback on images in the Urban and Natural Landscapes category. Berlin is full of great potential venues for meet ups, this one turned out perfect. I’ll run…  I was riding home from seeing a reading by MKA Berlin and the skyline caught my eye. The light at 10pm is just gorgeous here, and on a balmy night it doesn’t get much better. MKA are based in Melbourne and they’re here for another month. I introduced myself to them and maybe something cool…  Everywhere you walk in Berlin you’ll find these bronze plaques embedded in the footpaths outside apartments. They have the names, birth dates, deportation dates and destinations of the people that lived there engraved on them. I don’t need to say much more. This one is on the footpath outside a kindergarten down the street from…  Oh my how gorgeous. Lorraine Bennett of Classical Ballet Centre Canberra has a thriving business teaching ballet to children. Recently we updated her professional portraits. Then, during my May visit in Canberra we captured her ballet school in action. This was a successful exercise in collaboration – we spoke on the phone initially, then met… Oh thanks Jenny!!!! I’m so glad you love the images I thought everyone did such a great job.
