So long, farewell, auf wierdersehen, good-bye… Berlin has been rich, vibrant, and so rewarding. The coming weeks will be spent in Turkey and Greece on the move, so blogging may be a challenge, we’ll see. No families to meet, but time to spend reflecting on my trip so far. Monthly Archives: August 2009 This is where I’ve been staying here in Berlin, quite a nice apartment don’t you think? Lovely big windows, nice and light, great floorboards, a touch of Ikea… But hang on… A nude? Who is she? Why is she in this living room? Apparently – she who cannot be named –…  I introduce you to Jodi, from Australia, her hubby Erik, from Italy, and their little girl called Elliette, affectionately known as ‘Elliette la Belle’. (I’m learning fast that Berlin is a truely international city). What an awesome photo session! Such a vibrant and expressive be-who-you-wanna-be family, the challenge was in keeping up with them! They are… Nooooo!!!! That is tragic news, oh i’m so disappointed about that…bloody progress! Well i hope they do a good job on it and retain some of its character. I must admit when I was there shooting on another day a delivery guy stopped and said to me ‘you’re ten years too late’…uuugghh hit me right in the gut! But I still love Berlin Hi Beth, David  I just called a client in Canberra to discuss a family session we’ll have when I return in November. She’s been following the blog and my website and made such lovely comments about my work. I photographed her wedding in 2006 and they now have two little ones, so it’s going to be wonderful to see them…  This week I’ve been photographing some families that live here in Berlin. It’s a fascinating process, as each family has its own story and chemistry, and they live in Berlin. I had a lovely afternoon in a park in a neighbourhood called Friedenau over last weekend. The neighbourhood is in the former west Berlin, so the…  I introduce to you Nicole, John and baby Gavin – from Atlanta in America. What a fabulous morning I had … a) because they were just such lovely people, and b) because we are all approaching the city and Germany as outsiders. We get excited about the S-bahn! And graffiti! And funky staircases! They have been here for two years…  I’ve been in Berlin now for almost a week, and for the most part busy photographing some lovely families that live here (more on that later), catching up on work, getting the cricks out with some fabulous Bikram Yoga sessions, and preparing for the travel that awaits me in Turkey and Greece. That said, while I’ve been moving…  I’ve been a bit quiet on the photos and on the blog, thanks to a divine three weeks in France. I was however, in a position to take a couple of weekend trips away.
